Speaker Biography: Dr, Max Ganado

Dr. Max Ganado has practiced law for the last 29 years. Starting as a maritime lawyer, dealing with all aspects of shipping including ship finance. He became a partner of the firm in 1986 and moved on to develop the financial services practices of the firm. He has been heavily involved in the drafting of new legislation required for the development of Malta as a financial centre, including the revision of the law relating to Trusts and the law on legal persons and foundations as well as securitisation and aviation.

Max has lectured in investment funds and trusts for the last few years, being involved in disseminating education on trusts to the Maltese legal professions and Maltese law students. He has represented applicants in Court on trusts issues and has been appointed by the Court in its voluntary jurisdiction as an expert reporter on trust applications. He has published various articles and a legal text on Maltese Trusts and has acted as editor of various publications including collections of Maltese Court judgements on trusts, fiduciary obligations and foundations.
